They say women are bad luck on a boat. Captain Gail Atkinson never gave a damn. She's spent the last 30 years proving everyone wrong—and taking chances on people nobody else would hire.

But Gail's convictions are put to the test as she faces the storm of the year and an emotional upheaval that shakes her to her core. As she grapples with identity, loneliness, and legacy, Gail finds unexpected purpose providing others the very opportunities that she was once denied.

This 25 minute documentary is coming in fall 2025. The project has received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, and was selected for the Whistler Doc Lab.
